GUESTS, STUDENTS OR TRAVELLERS?

Wax and Resin study for the first commercial piece to be done by your host’s new sculpture company ‘Sculpture Out of The Box’
Once again, this is sculpting your own way in Italy, so you can do as much or as little as you like on your life changing journey.  If you are a foodie, culture vulture, traveller, wine lover or accidental tourist, or someone who adores the finest hotels and homes, perhaps it is primarily the Tuscan lifestyle that really attracts you.  It may be that that you are part of an intimate group of friends where only one or two members of the party want to engage intensively with sculpting. That’s absolutely fine, since David will tailor the trip to everyone’s needs and dove-tail experiences too, like a skilled carpenter.

One the other hand, you may come driven by a passion to start, further or even begin to master the sculptor’s Art. So, for a week or two, or longer, the entire programme could be dedicated to daily sculpting classes, in between lovely lunches and dinners, from creating an armature, to making a piece in wax, clay, plastelina or plaster, or even taking it on to the mould making and casting stages.

You could bring a finished or half finished piece with you, and try to see it cast while you are here, again dependent on time, or want to get really intensive with one special aspect of sculpting and casting – like wax and bronze working in the foundries,  repairing damaged casts and working with different patinas. Again, bronze may not be your thing, but although that is David’s speciality, he can give lessons in other media too, or connect you up with another professional in any field, from marble and various styles of stone work, to terracotta and glass.

But whatever you want to experience and to achieve David will be their to help you sculpt your way.
