The structure of your course in Pietrasanta is really up to you and what you want to achieve, but that is the point of sculpting your own life-changing trip with David. Before the journey even starts then, David will consult on all your hopes, ambitions and requirements, the level of your own skill and tailor-make the experience to your needs.
One of the reasons artists and sculptors have moved to Carrara and Pietrasanta in their droves though, over many years, is access. Finding the right studio, the best teacher in the appropriate medium, the materials you truly want to work with, and, if you are going into bronze casting, the best foundries too; these are all the unseen challenges to the artist’s life anyway and often a very challenging experience too. So, whatever your own sculpting level, from beginner to professional, by living and working in Pietrasanta himself, David has done much of the donkey work for you already, and can open a very unique doorway. That includes a knowledge of both artists and galleries here too and for established or nascent collectors an introduction to many local artists and their work.
Of course, anything you do and want to do is proscribed by time, most especially having work cast into bronze, but David also offers a follow up on that, ensuring that if you want to, even if your work is cast after you leave, a finished bronze will get safely home to you. This is most particularly true in the area of modelling small waxes together, based on your own or many styles, and casting those, which can be a very inexpensive way of taking a memorable piece of work back with you.

COURSE TEMPLATES – All courses can be arranged for longer periods too. Some of these courses will bring in teachers with higher expertise.
